Alley’s DEIA pledge

At Alley, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) are at the heart of our mission to reclaim the internet as an awesome place to work, play, and explore — for all people. This includes historically marginalized groups such as women, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and people with disabilities.

Our work seeks to connect people to news, entertainment, ideas, and to each other. As an organization, we uphold that diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds fuel our best work and foster authentic collaboration across the organizations and communities we work with.

5 key focus areas anchor our pledge to DEIA

1. People-first mindset:

Set an internal standard of inclusive language and business practices as well as a mindset that models company-wide inclusivity and open-mindedness.

2. Retention:

Provide resources and support to foster an environment where diversity is prioritized, respected, and embraced — and where our employees can feel a true sense of belonging.

3. Outreach:

Use our positions, expertise, and knowledge to support, collaborate with, and provide resources to historically marginalized people.

4. Hiring:

Build a team that reflects the broader demographic makeup of the U.S. and the other countries where our team members are based.

5. Education:

Continue to evolve our evidence-based DEIA approach and educate ourselves (and our team) on issues relating to DEIA.

It starts within

At Alley, our values of quality, transparency, and accountability are at the core of what we do. We hold firmly that the best teams are those where everyone can bring their whole self. That’s why we seek to cultivate a people-first approach to working, where diversity is not only a strength but a staple in producing the best work (and work environment) possible.
